Yesterday morning I'v got a a license for Icemark software - [link] ... and have a talk (via email's) with author... (IMHO) really talented person. Other existing software, as Digimarc, included in Photoshop and etc. are too expensive for me (I used Digimarc for test purposes and watermark only some of my photo's)...

So, any image from my gallery(s) will be watermarked by Icemark (I encapsulate date and time of shot + link to source gallery and author's name)... and then I'll watermark all images uploaded to other gallery's "outside" the dA...

I'll try to test this software ~ 1 month with the help of my photoworks ) and later (at the end of November - beginning of December) I'll make a Journal about this software with recommendations to my dA Friends...

Now I finally d't make a decision about... stay there... on this account or reupload all watermarked shots to new account...

.... I did not expect so much kind comments from my Friends... and REALLY.. I'm glad to see that you all fall in with me on this question!!!!! Thanks again... and again...

Well... I think a little about the theme of image stolen protection... In any way I d't want to upload too small images and with dA watermark... (IMHO) it's disregard to my visitors...

About the protection methods...

Unsuitable methods (IMHO)...

1. put the signature on images or use dA watermark...
# no - because in Photoshop it's easy to "dissolve" it (stamp, clone tool and etc.) and dA watermark is so big that "spoil" images... (IMHO)

2. save exif info and type in IPTC section copyright info...
# no - because EXIF info can be removed /edited / transfered from other image (for ex. this is typical functions in Adobe Lightroom and other util's )

3. upload / send to admin's (if necessary.. ) RAW files (this is possible? i d't know...)
# no - because many RAW shots were made in universal DNG format and any can convert to DNG format other formats - jpg, tiff and psd... with deleting original jpg thumbnails... (for ex. see new beta Adobe Lightroom 3.0 - import/export... btw... I use now this free version -> and U can download software there - [link] + video - new features - [link] )

4. use flash format for publishing shots... - no - because it's easy to decompile this files... - for ex. - Eltima Flash decompiler and etc..

5. use such services as Digimarc - no - for me (IMHO) it's too overpriced - [link] ...

I think, that real protection now - only invisible watermark by Phibit Software - application - Icemark - U can read all info there -> [link] and Personal License for Windows (Mac) is only $49.95. I'll buy this software immediately ...

Hi my dear Friends!!!

Some days ago I understand an interesting situation about my photoworks...

I ALWAYS d't disregard on following event that some/many of my photoworks from this site were stolen... I saw it's published on other photogallery's (Flickr and etc.) or blogs... Also I uploaded from 2005 till now my old/recent "dA photoworks" to some other gallery's such as pentaxphotogallery and etc. ...

And now I have messages from dA administration about copyright violation and automatically deleted deviation without links to original stolen image... may be copy/reprocessed copy of images from my gallery?)

And what....? I'll must in future upload only RAW files (exif info in jpg files may be simply transfered or changed...)? Or upload in minimal size without possibility of downloading and with watermark... + use only one name "my-shots" on all my external gallery's? I'm DISINCLINED to discuss this problem with dA administration... No prob... )

This evening I'll remove shots from my gallery... and temporary stay there as "observer"... Later MAY BE... I'll open other account and note (if U wish) to all my friends about new link...

btw... this gallery was secondary on dA - first "myshots" ( [link] ) I closed because of great quantity (100 ~ 200 ...) of strange everyday odious "spam" notes....
