Thank you!

1 min read

I haven't checked deviantart in a while. I don't come here very often at all. But when I stopped by, I saw that someone gave me a monthly subscription. Thank you!!!

Unfortunately I can't pay in any way from my country as the payment systems are blocked. So it's always a pleasure for me when someone thinks of me and someone likes my photos.

Thanks again!

I will temporary close my account in the nearest future and will completely switch to other design-friendly photo resources such as 500px and etc. cause I d't see important feature in a new dA design:

Categories for photos are disappeared, i.e. Landscape, Macro and etc. Instead of categories I must add tags every time when I upload photo

UPD_21_05_2020

I d't want to deactivate my account (> 12 years on dA :)), I only freeze it until the Eclipse will be more user-friendly.

I wrote the following comment - Thanks for the info! But IMHO the Category option in browsing from the old dA was better... much better. Also (IMHO), the overall exclusion of Categories from site, for ex. in description of uploaded photo's (only tags) is the critical error. This error, as well as a very "loose" page design - eclipse becomes "readable" only after reducing the pages scale (by page zoom ~ 80 percent), will entail the leaving dA of many "remaining" photographers to more friendly design sites such as 500px and etc.

I liked this comment from the "Discover the new DeviantArt"

Thanks I hate it.

But, no, seriously. Genuinely. Memes aside; on the off chance you read this and actually take it to heart? Here's some suggestions. There's quite a few. I know it's long, but the eclipsefeedback form doesn't allow for anywhere near as much information.

Section 3: Browsing

3) While I appreciate not having to look at fetish artwork on the front page, I would love it if sfw mode had better definitions. Sometimes I'm fine with looking at things like blood, gore or artistic nudity, but not specifically fetish art. So if people want to look at a character that's been beaten and bloodied in an rpg they can — without suddenly being blasted with inflation or foot fetish artwork.

3c) Categories please. The old browsing system was fine. Other art websites use a similar category system instead of tags. Leaving it up solely to tags makes it hard to find specific things because there are literally hundreds, thousands of tag possibilities. You have wolves, wolveswolves, wolf, wolfie, fantasywolf, edgywolf, etc. Furaffinity has a system where you have a category that you can search in.

Artwork - digital/photography/designs/etc

and then you can look up type. Such as fantasy, misc, abstract, etc.

In addition to that, you can also input tags while you're searching. That way, you can search for fantasy artwork, but also stick on a 'wolf' tag and narrow your search to only find fantasy wolves. You already have 'topics' on the front page. Let topics be categories.

The system you have in place currently was one used on tumblr and one currently used on twitter. Both websites made it hard to find specific things because of that. I'm speaking from personal experience.
